Marvelous Monday!

Good evening!
We woke up to a beautiful day with the sun shining and clear blue skies. Machaneh (camp) made our way to the toren (flag pole) for hitkansuit boker (flag raising). In today’s Ivrit Shimushit (useful Hebrew) skit we learned the word cham which means hot. We headed to breakfast which was pancakes!
Today the Tzophimot went on the high ropes course. During Pish Aleph (the first age group activity) the Amelimot had instructional swim, the Chotrimot stayed in their shetach (area) for a peula (activity) about feminism, and the Sayarimot joined the Amelimot for instructional swim. The Bonimot had a peula (activity) about leadership, and the Bogrimot helped the Madatz (CITs) prepare for Revo (a special day when the Madatz take over camp for the day).

Due to the heat, everyone headed to the pool during sports for a pool party. After sports, chanichimot (campers) had some time to get washed up before heading to lunch, which was a delicious meal of grilled cheese, tomato soup, and broccoli. After lunch, chanichimot (campers) had some rest time before heading to Pish Bet (the second age group activity) the Amelimot learned about inequality in America, the Chotrimot had instructional swim, and the Sayarimot did a bunch of bonding activities. The Bonimot did some kvutzah (group) building activities, and the Bogrimot had a peula (activity) about their role at machaneh (camp) as leadership figures. During Pish Bet it began raining (which gave us a much desired cool off) so the Tzophimot made an early return from the ropes course.

Then it was time for Zman Meyuchad (specialist time), because of the rain, everyone headed to the moadon (clubhouse) for a dance party. Next was Schiya Chofshit (free swim) which was a very popular destination today due to the heat. After that we had Kibud (snack) and then Chugim (interest groups). Then the whole machaneh (camp) gathered by the toren (flag pole) for shira (singing time) before Hitkansuit Erev (the flag lowering). Dinner tonight was sloppy joes- yum! And tonight’s Tochnit Erev (evening activity) will be themed Settlers of Canaan.
