An Exciting Day at Machaneh!

Good evening!
The day started out lovely, with a fantastic breakfast of crazy eggs (or eggs in a hole, ect) before heading off to avodah (work groups). During Pish Alef (the first age group activity) the Amelimot had instructional swim, the Chotrimot had instructional swim and then learned about other machanot (camps) in Habonim Dror North America, the Bonimot practiced for Kabbalat Shabbat which they’re in charge of this week, and the Bogrimot began putting the finishing touches on their preparations for Bozman (an evening activity that is run and planned by the Bogrimot), which is tonight!

Today for sports, everyone went to their usual sport and made sure to stay hydrated while they played. After sports, chanichimot (campers) had some time to shower or wash up before lunch. Lunch was a delicious meal of pierogies, borsht, and green beans, followed by some menucha (rest time) before Pish Bet (the second age group activity). During Pish Bet the Amelimot had a peula (activity) about working as a team, the Chotrimot began practicing for their oneg (a funny skit put on by a different age group every Shabbat), the Bonimot had a peula (activity) about Habonim Dror and its impact in the U.S. and around the world, and the Bogrimot put the finishing touches on their decorations for Bozman. The Sayarimot and the Tzophimot returned from tiyul (hiking/camping trip) and had some time to shower and rest before rejoining the rest of machaneh (camp) for Chugim (interest groups).

Because of the weather, instead of Zman Meyuchad (specialist time) we had a machaneh (camp) wide pool party. During Schiya Chofshit (free swim) many chanichimot (campers) opted to stay down at the pool until kibud (snack time).

With the Tzophimot and Sayarimot back, Chugim (interest groups) continued on as normal. Dinner tonight was a barbeque in Hyde Park! Tonight’s Tochnit Erev (evening activity) is Bozman, which we’ll have a special guest blogger discuss tomorrow!
See you tomorrow!
