Today I got to hang out with the Bogrimot as they went on ropes today!
Working hard as a group! |
We started the day with the rest of machaneh (camp), going to hitkansut boker (flag raising ceremony), ivrit shimushit (useful hebrew skit) - we learned about Hebrew pronunciations, breakfast, and avodah (work). After that, however, we went our own way into the woods.
We started out on low ropes on my personal favorite low ropes element: the zigzag. It consists of the entire kvustah(age group) trying to get from one end of a wire to another end using just 2 sticks and no talking. It's super hard, super fun, and super great for team building!
After that we went on the high ropes. There was the Inclined Plane, the Log, and the Heebie Jeebies. We also sent kids down the zip line and a couple of pairs decided to climb the Giant's Ladder. We took a break halfway to go to lunch (schnitzel and fries).
While the Bogrimot were on Ropes, the Sayarimot had a puelah today about Peace, and what they envision the world should be. The Bonimot planned their Oneg for Friday night. The Amelimot spent a little time practicing their dance for Kabbalat Shabbat. The Tzophimot did a bit of time travel, and explore the origins of Homo Sapiens. The Chotrimot had fun at the pool.
The "Day in the Life" Chug explored worms - so a "Day in the Life of Worms" and they made Dirt Pudding! We also welcomed Rabbi David Ackerman from Beth Am Israel for a visit.
We got back with just enough time to shower and rest a little bit before Shira (song learning time) and hitkansut erev (flag lowering ceremony) before we headed off to dinner. Our dinner was delicious: tortellini and spring rolls!
Then we all watched Moana! What a fun day! Well, see you all tomorrow (its Yom Yisrael)!
