Shaving Cream, Habonim, and the Artistic Bogrim

Today was Yom Tzophim, which meant that the Tzophim got to change things up for the day. They awoke this morning to crepes and whipped cream on the basketball court. After breakfast, they filled their hands with shaving cream and had an intense battle, which included getting shaving cream on the photographer. The rest of their schedule included a mix of calm and crazy activities for their kvutzah. Before lunch, they ventured down to the creek as a way to relax and alleviate the heat. This afternoon, the fun continued with games and Postman (a calm activity where questions are posed and chanichim send each other notes that pertain to the topic).

This afternoon, the Amelim had a peula about Habonim Dror. They started off slow by learning a few short songs about Habonim Dror, or more specifically Habonim Dror North America (HDNA). They then talked about the base values of Habonim Dror -- values like equality, community, the importance of Israel, and social justice. From there, they moved on to bigger ideas like the difference between a summer camp and a youth movement, and what it means to be a part of Habonim Dror.

Bonim did improv during sadnaot today. They played games that required improvising skills and being able to change personas at the drop of the hat. The whole time there, the Bonim were giggling with their friends.

At the same time, the Bogrim worked on the mural. The mural is mostly painted, so today was about adding details and cleaning up certain areas. Overall, the mural the looks great, and is well underway to being ready to hang up!
