Reconnecting with Friends and Family

Today was visiting day! After breakfast and time to straighten up, it was time to go to parking lot and wait for our parents. It was wonderful for the tzevet (staff) to have the opportunity to meet and speak to the parents and families of our campers.

Our Parent’s Day program was very relaxing. It started with a wonderful picnic lunch provided by the parents. We know that many of you received letters telling you exactly what to bring for lunch. We placed a display in front of the Moadon that included pictures that show what our chanichim have been doing in their chugim and sa’adnaot (workshops)

At about 1:30 we all went to the Moadon. After a few words from our Camp Committee Chairman, Joe Ross and our Rosh Machaneh, Sara Zebovitz, the chanichim performed "If I had a Hammer," a song we sang with Dar Williams last Friday. After the song parents and family went to their children’s cabins. We played some icebreaker games so the parents could get to know each other. After this activity parents could either spend time with their children or go to the pool and swim.

At 4:00  it was time to say goodbye to our visitors. After a brief free period we resumed our programming with chugim (interest groups). This was followed by sadna'ot (workshops) and then the flag lowering and dinner. Tonight’s evening activities will be done by schichva.
