Opening Day!!

Hello everybody again!

As many of you probably know, today was opening day for machaneh (camp) Galil! For kids, the day started at 9:30 when the first group of kids (the Bonimot and Bogrimot) arrived. Then came the Amelimot and Chotrimot at 10:45, and lastly (but certainly not least) the Sayarimot and Tzophimot. 

So happy to be moved in!

For us on tzevet (staff), however, the day started much earlier to prepare this beautiful camp for your amazing kids! The Madatz (counselors in training), who arrived on Friday, also helped us out, gaining some useful experience for when they will be on tzevet next year!

After getting the chance to move in and reconnect with old friends, the chanichimot(campers) ate some lunch at 1:30.

After lunch the chanichimot  had menucha (free time. After that the chanichimot had machaneh rotations to tour and get to know the important places at machaneh. These places included the gan (garden), beit omanut (arts and crafts building), and the pool. The chanichimot also got to know the mazkirut (leadership team) and the ropes & tiyul (camping) madamotim (specialists).

Then it was back to basics for the chanichimot. First, they got to know each other a little bit better through ice breakers and name games. Then, on a more serious note, madrichimot (counselors) went over rules.

Once that was over and done with, chanichimot had their first hitkansut erev (flag lowering ceremony) of summer 2017!

Chugim skits!

After that we had a delicious dinner. After that we had skits for chugim (clubs) so the chanichimot can decide on which ones they want to do along with avodah (work) and sports. They will list their preferences preferences and learn which ones they will be in in the morning! Tomorrow will be the chanichimot's first "normal" day!
